[Text & Emails](https://support.cbo.io/messaging?hsLang=en#text-emails) # 📧 How to Customize Your ClickBid Welcome Email When a guest registers as a bidder, ClickBid automatically sends them a **Welcome Email** with important event info. You can **customize part of this message** to give it a more personal or branded touch. --- #### ⚙️ Accessing the Welcome Email Settings To edit your welcome message: 1. Click **Software Settings** from your admin menu 2. Click **Auction Settings** 3. Click **Bidder Settings** 4. Scroll to the **Welcome Email** content section 5. Use your section to highlight special instructions, contacts, or event-specific notes. --- #### 📌 Important Notes About the Welcome Email - **Bidder numbers will only be included** if you've added **at least one Live or Silent Auction item** in your admin - **Shortcodes (like `[u]`, `[f]`) cannot be used** in this message - There is **no separate preview,** test by registering yourself as a bidder to see how it looks ⚠️ **Warning:** If no auction items are loaded yet, the email **will not include the bidder’s number**, even though the default message mentions it. --- #### 📝 **Sample Welcome Email Messages** Need inspiration for your custom message? Here are some examples nonprofits have used to warmly welcome and inform their bidders: --- ### Sample 1 > **Welcome to the 2021 \[ORG NAME\] \[EVENT NAME\] Silent Auction!** > Thank you for signing up to bid and participate! All bidding will take place through your smartphone. If you need help, just ask! You’ll get notified if you’re outbid. Bidding starts on \[DATE\] and ends on \[DATE\]. We’ve included your personal bidding link and bidder number below. Happy Bidding! --- ### Sample 2 > **Thank you for registering to bid for \[EVENT NAME\]!** > You’ll receive updates when new details are shared and when the auction opens. We’re so grateful for your support of \[ORG NAME\]. --- ### Sample 3 > **Dear Bidder,** > Thanks for registering for the 2021 \[ORG NAME\] \[EVENT NAME\] Virtual Auction. > The auction opens on \[DATE\] and closes on \[DATE\]. > We appreciate your support and participation! --- ### Sample 4 > **Thanks for registering for \[EVENT NAME\] benefiting \[ORG NAME\]!** > This hybrid event takes place on \[DATE\].
