# 🎯 Appeal Display: Customize Your Fundraising Theme

The **Projected Display Settings** allow you to control how your donation item’s appeal display appears during an event. With theme selection, layout options, and customizable content, you can build a visually engaging and branded experience that encourages giving.

This guide walks you through how to choose a display theme, adjust appearance settings, and manage what shows up on screen.

### 🎨 Step 1: Choose a Theme

1. Navigate to: **Item \> Manage Items\> Donation Item\> Projected Display Settings \> Theme**
2. In the **Theme** dropdown, choose from: 
     1. **Legacy Displays** 
            1. Thermometer
            2. Gauge
            3. Custom Image Thermometer
     2. **Standard Display** 
            1. A modern layout with additional customization tools
            2. Better suited for flexible branding and on-screen messaging

### 🧰 Step 2: Customize the Standard Display

Once **Standard Display** is selected, you’ll unlock several formatting and content tools:

#### 🖋️ **Font Settings**

- **Font**: Choose from available font styles
- **Font Color**: Use the full color picker to match your branding

#### 🏷️ Title Above Total

- Set a **custom title** to display above the total raised.
- **Character limit:** 20

### 💬 Custom Message

- Add a custom message beneath the total raised
- **Character limit**: 100
- **Default**: Blank (optional)

### 🖼️ Step 3: Adjust Display Appearance

#### 🌈 **Background Style**

- Use the dropdown to select a preset background style
- For full control, select **Custom Color** and use the color picker

#### 🌡️ **Thermometer Type**

- Choose between:
  
    - **Custom Image**
    - **Standard Thermometer**

🖼️ **Visual Tip**: If using a custom image thermometer, the image begins gray and fills with color as donations are made. When the goal is reached, the image becomes fully colored — creating a vibrant visual milestone.⬇️

### 👥 Step 4: Configure Display Content

To streamline customization, display toggles have been combined into a single **dropdown menu**. Choose up to **two display elements** at a time:

- Show only **Donor Names**
- Show only **Custom Message**
- Show only **Sponsors**
- Show **Donor Names + Sponsors**
- Show **Donor Names + Custom Message**
- Show **Custom Message + Sponsors**

⚠️ **Sponsor logos/messages won’t appear on smaller screens** (like mobile). To maintain sponsor visibility, use a **Sponsor Content Block** on your landing page.

### 🎯 Optional: Show Goal Toggle

- Use this toggle to **enable or disable** the fundraising **goal display** on screen.
- Disabling the goal can simplify the display for events focused on total funds raised rather than progress.
