Discount codes allow you to offer complimentary tickets or reduced-price tickets without creating separate ticket types. This makes it easy to provide special access for sponsors, staff, or VIP guests while keeping your ticket setup simple.

⚙️ How to Create a Discount Code

Follow these steps to add a discount code to an existing ticket:

  1. Go to Event Tickets from your event dashboard.
  2. Click Modify Tickets.
  3. Select the ticket you want to apply the discount to.
    • This will open the ticket’s editing page.
  4. Click the blue + Discount Code button.
  5. Click into the Discount Code field and enter your desired code.
  6. Enter the final ticket price after the discount.
    • For example: If your ticket normally costs $50 and you want guests to pay $20, enter 20.
  7. To create additional discount codes, click Add Discount and repeat the steps above.

Discount codes set the final price, not the amount taken off. Always enter the price you want guests to pay after the discount is applied.

➕ Creating Complimentary Tickets (Free Tickets)

You can use discount codes to create complimentary tickets without making a separate free ticket.

  1. Follow the steps above to create a Discount Code.
  2. Enter your desired code (example: VIPFREE or SPONSOR).
  3. Set the discounted price to 0.
  4. Save your changes.

Guests who enter this code during checkout will receive the ticket at no cost.

Use clear, memorable discount codes like VIP, STAFF, or DONOR so they’re easy to share and recognize.

🔁 Adding Multiple Discount Codes

You can create as many discount codes as needed for a single ticket type.

  • Click Add Discount to create another code.
  • Each code can have a different final price.
  • This allows you to offer different pricing levels (such as sponsor rates, early access pricing, or staff discounts).

Create separate discount codes for different groups instead of sharing one code widely. This makes it easier to track who used each discount.

⚠️ Things to Keep in Mind

  • Discount codes apply only to the ticket you add them to.
  • Guests must enter the correct code during checkout for the discount to apply.
  • If a discounted ticket price is set to 0, the ticket will be treated as complimentary.

If the wrong price is entered in the Discount Code field, guests may be charged more or less than intended. Always double-check the final price before saving.
