# How to Convert Guests to Bidders
#### 👥 What Happens When You Convert Guests to Bidders?
When you convert **ticketed guests into bidders**, they are **not automatically notified** by ClickBid. Their guest information is copied over to the **Manage Bidders** section, allowing them to bid, but it's up to you to notify them if needed.
Bidders will **not** be notified when you convert them to a bidder.
### How to Convert Guests to Bidders
1. Go to **Event Tickets** \> **Manage Guests**
2. In the upper-left dropdown, select **Show 100 Entries** to view as many guests as possible
3. Locate the **"Bidder # Assigned"** column
- Type **"No"** into this field to filter for guests who still need to be converted
4. Use the **top check box** to select all guests on the page at once
5. Click **OK** in the popup window to confirm the selection
6. Scroll to the bottom and check the box next to **Make Bidder**
7. In the confirmation box, type **Make Bidder**
8. Click **Update** to finalize
9. Repeat steps for **each page** of unconverted guests until all have been converted
⚠️ Once guests have been converted to bidders, all updates to their information should take place on the **Manage Guests** page. This will properly carry updated date over into their bidder profile.
### Where to View Converted Bidders
After conversion:
- Go to **Bidders** \> **Manage Bidders**
Here you’ll find all newly created bidder profiles with their assigned numbers.
When making updates in the Manage Guest section after guests are turned into bidders, note that the following fields will automatically update in the Manage Bidders section if changed: ***First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, Table.***
### 💬 How to Notify Bidders (Optional)
If you have the **Mass Messaging** feature, you can send a custom text or email to let new bidders know how to participate.
- Go to **Bidders** \> **Text/Email Bidders**
- Use **shortcodes** to personalize your message:
- **\[u\]** – Bidding link (this is not a shareable link, this is their own personalized bidding link)
- **\[b\]** – Bidder number
- **\[f\]** – First name
- **\[l\]** – Last name
Let your bidders know their number and share the bidding link in advance to avoid confusion on event night. Make sure they know it's their own personal bidding link and not to share it with others.
